Today I learnt that the word Berserk as in "he went berserk" comes from Old Norse. Berserkers were insane Norse warriors who fought in a frenzied, furious manner. These men, whilst possibly under the influence of drugs, showed uncontrollable rage in battle and wore bizarre coats of bear-skin.
