Today I learnt that "Straight Edge" is a concept and lifestyle, symbolised by the letter X, which has been associated with parts of the hardcore punk and post-hardcore subculture for decades. It refers to individuals who do not and will never drink, smoke or take drugs. I myself have lived by these principles my whole life.
