Today I learnt that after 1985's Live Aid concert all the American footage was disabled according to Bob Geldoff's wishes. Luckily MTV discovered, in their vaults, a collection of unmarked tapes which turned out to be a recording of the event complete with commercials and presenter links. None of the Live Aid footage was shown for 20 years until the tapes were found and a commemorative DVD released.
